Kaity graduated from Humansville High, Humansville, Missouri, in 2007. Kaity was in the gifted and talented program, on the basketball, cross country, track, and soft ball teams and she belonged to the Future Business Leaders of America; she took her high school diploma in three years. Kaity attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City where she earned an undergraduate degree in History with an emphasis in American-foreign relations concentrating on South East Asia. Kaity has an interest in literature through the ages and she has a sub-specialty in language arts.
While at UMKC, Kaity developed her interest in civic improvement and its juxtaposition to private business and entrepreneurship. Among her academic activities with UMKC’s Student Government Association, Kaity organized debates between those running for the City Council; she was a project manager for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) in the Bloch School; and, she presented her capstone paper to the Missouri Historical Society. Kaity traveled to China to teach university students about American business practices in a cultural exchange program.
In private business, Kaity started early in grade school selling Bryer horses at rodeos and summer fairs. She breed and sold Siamese Cats during high-school, she was a sales supervisor for a marketing firm through out high school, and during her time with SIFE she developed marketing materials for Kansas City Power and Light for their green initiative.
